How Qatar licensing works
The Department of Healthcare Professions at the Ministry of Public Health took over from the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP). Candidates apply online, complete primary source verification and an eligibility evaluation, and then sit a computer-based exam through Prometric. DHP's qualifying examination page lists the pharmacist exam as 150 MCQs in 3 hours with a 60% cut score.
Topics to prioritise
- Narrow therapeutic index drugs: digoxin, lithium, phenytoin, warfarin, theophylline, aminoglycosides and vancomycin.
- Electrolyte disturbances and the drugs that cause them.
- Cardiovascular, diabetes and infection therapeutics.
- Pharmacokinetics: half-life, steady state, loading doses and clearance.
- Drug information: choosing the right reference for a question.
A six-week plan
- Weeks 1–3: organ-system therapeutics with daily MCQs.
- Week 4: therapeutic drug monitoring and pharmacokinetics.
- Week 5: special populations, calculations and drug information.
- Week 6: full timed mocks and targeted revision.
