How Bahrain licensing works
The National Health Regulatory Authority licenses pharmacists in the public and private sectors. The usual route is an application, primary source verification of your qualifications and experience, and a computer-based exam through Prometric.
Topics to prioritise
- Drugs in pregnancy and lactation, including teratogens.
- Cardiovascular, diabetes and respiratory therapeutics.
- Antimicrobials, including aminoglycoside and vancomycin monitoring.
- Adverse effects that change management (ototoxicity, nephrotoxicity, hepatotoxicity).
- Calculations and pharmacokinetics.
A six-week plan
- Weeks 1–3: organ-system therapeutics with daily MCQs.
- Week 4: special populations and drug safety.
- Week 5: calculations and pharmacy practice.
- Week 6: full timed mocks and targeted revision.
